See if anyone else is up for it first. Then will find a start point handy for everyone.
Looks like Long Itch is about half way between me and you. |

Hmmm, tempting, I'm not doing the same speed as last week though, so lets see which other slow old codgers are going. If there aren't any I might just come for breakfast to say hello, then ride home again (unless your going to take a route which goes back up towards Market Harborough), as if it's all you fast young 'uns I'd be riding on my own 2 miles behind the group anyway.

I'll take it slower this weekend...well tbh the whole ride the other weekend I didnt go above 100. Just cos you are leading you get the good overtakes and the rest get left behind. The pace in the ride from Banbury to daventry was quite sedate wasn't it Colin?

If you want to lead Col, we can go at your pace, which if I remember isn't really that slow at all.
Your amazing petrol station finding sat nav can guide the way as well ![]() Last edited by L3nny; 28-09-12 at 12:40 PM. |

![]() To be fair you probably weren't much into three figures (we are talking kph here of course!), but you weren't slowing down much for the corners either. First time I've had the rear tyre on the Daytona squirming on corner exits anyway. Banbury to daventry was more sedate than earlier on when Raping Ladies commented that I was supposed to be slowing down. I still wouldn't describe it as sedate when we got going though, but we did have a lot of traffic on that section to work through, so it was slower. After Daventry I sat at the back with Raping Ladies and we were still travelling some just to keep up. After Southam I got stuck in traffic and the rest of you were gone, so I just let you all wait for me at Banbury. Then soon after that I bust my shoulder, and just couldn't take the windblast on my helmet any more, so I gave up and dropped back. You guys were giving it some the whole ride. I don't ride like that very often nowadays, and it's something that requires practice. It's fine to do it once in a while, but it's a case of 'WHEN' not 'IF' you make a mistake, so riding at that pace all the time is asking for trouble. |
