Default matt black foot pegs and plates etc, is it possible?

Hi guys n gals. Like the title says, I was wondering if its possible to have the foot pegs and plates as well as gear link and foot brake pedals etc painted matt black. I have a 2000 curvy sv and wanted to start tidying her up a bit. It's candy blue and wanted to basically start getting the ally bits incl frame etc matt black (wheels too). I've searched and found some threads that are against it, was wondering if anyone actually had them done and how do I go abt it. Any help pls.

Of course it is, you could do the majority yourself. Sand it back to key it, couple of coats of primer and then a good few top coats...it'll wear off like any other paint though with wear and tear. If the foot pegs are a complicated shape with loads of dimples or whatever, you could get them powder coated..would cost naff all in matt black

Wow, that sounds great and encouraging. Any ideas on what grades of sandpaper and what primers and matt black ( would the halfrauds primer n paint do? )

Key it with some rougher stuff (been a while since I've done this so the grades have escaped me) use high build primer, put three coats on at about 25 minutes apart, if it's rough then smooth it out with a lighter sand paper, then put another coat of high build on. Then your top coats...top coat will take longer to dry obviously! And yeah halfords paint is just as good as any other.

This is true, and it won't cost a great deal for such small parts

Or this, even easier haha! then you have your originals spare to put back on when you come to sell if you wanna make a bit of extra cash on the custom bits

Won't last 2 minutes on footpegs. Might last 4 minutes on heel plates.
