ok,
I bought a 54 plate ford cmax earlier and driving home it died lost all power. a message on the dash says power steering assist failure. If you restart the car all is fine with no issues but if you rev the engine over 2.5 k it does it again. The steering feels perfect so doubt its anything to do with the electric pump? has anybody got a n idea of what it may be? |

Check the electrical connector on the pump, as these have been known to suffer from corrosion.
CMax has an earth-point on the o/s/f leg that also suffers with corrosion.

It's obviously going in to limp mode or something, did you buy the car private or dealer? If its a dealer, take the bloody thing back.

I bought the car privatly.
i charged the battery up to full, and it still does it occasionally when you rev high. I have cleaned the connectors and all seems fine but no luck as yet |
