Just keep an eye on ebay for a GSXR1000 K3/K4 rear shock, then get it set up my a suspension specialist.

ZX10 swap is for the curvey, GSXR1000 is for the pointy if I remember correctly. You need to trim a bit out of the bottom of the battery tray to fit the GSXR shock to the pointy but its relatively straight forward. I have no idea what needs to be done on the curvey!

I stuck an 04 ZX10 in mine and cut the battery tray.
Simple enough job with some tinsnips. Probably took around 3 hours in total, including a trip to work to pick up the bottom bolt I forgot to get and greasing the linkage bearings and everything else around that area.

Be sure to check international sellers on ebay and also check for mis spelt listings etc. Also make your search a bit more vague eg just type zx10 shock rather than zx10r 06/07 rear shock. You'll have to sift through loads of listings but people sometimes don't know what it is they're selling. Check the pics with each listing as some will be mistakenly listed as different year etc. BTW I no longer have the spare in the pic, just demonstrating that if your patient they do come up fairly often ![]() Last edited by dkid; 16-11-12 at 12:26 AM. |
