Default Pointy chain adjuster stainless nuts?

Does anyone have a ready source for replacements, for the bolts that go on the chain tensioners. Listed as part no. 08319-31087, and item no 16, in the below picture. I would be looking to replace with nice shiney stainless steel ones and rid the bike of another few scabby looking, brown, nasty originals.

Are they normal nuts or something special?

Maybe Chewy knows?

Cheers

I believe they are nothing but M8 serrated flange nuts, nothing special, as long as the replacement has no dairy content you'll be fine.

Cheers Mark.

whilst the aluminum ones linked to are pretty, personally I'd say with steel or stainless, I'm sure they would work fine, but if you have any friction on the axle movement you could strip them in the future.

these would do

Why not buy the titanium ones then? They aren't going to break are they?

Actually, the titanium ones come in pretty colours and flanged, simples

£30 as apposed to £1.85, would be my reason, that's about 200 miles riding, but I suppose it's all down to priorities.

Also rust

The OP has been complaining about rust on bolts, Titanium does rust, but, the Titanium Dioxide layer doesn't propagate, where as Ferrous Oxide does

titanium is a wonderful material; no doubt and if you were building a no cost limit bike, the weight saving and strength would be ideal, on the rust front stainless will last far longer than the standard and as shown is far more cost effective, £30 would get you a mixed bag of bolts and nuts in A2 stainless to change almost all the bolts on the bike, the OP was concerned about rust, but as he's on an SV forum, I'm guessing he isn't about to replace everything titanium and only wants a cost effective way of addressing his current issue.

Unless you're into pub points....

What about these as a good alternative suggestion? They are Marine grade stainless, (A4 316 grade) so more resistant to rust than the A2, grade 304, bolts listed above.

I have already replaced most visible bolts with Chewys Stainless Bike kit, as consequently it has shown up the few remaining crap ones.

that link doesn't work, but yeah they'll do fine although A2 will out last the bike in all probability, so why spend anymore ?
