Default waiting in for couriers

grrrhh

According to the on line tracking at 7:30 am my parcel was loaded onto a van 2 miles away. 6 hours later it has still not arrived.

The missus has given me a list to do. Will she believe I have not yet been able to go out as priority is making sure the granddaughters present arrives.

I know this is going to hurt when she get home and demands to know why I haven't done all the other bits.

I could have walked down to the depot and carried the damm thing. I bet they are having the crimbo party with my stuff in the back of the van.

if you're that close they're probably going to do you last on the way back.

at 7:30 they probably wanted to get to the far flung customers before the rush hour.

likely so, I'd imagine they don't work their way from the depot but back TO it in the evening so may well start with the furthest away. Sucks for customers though.
They also have to organise their route if someone has a timed delivery on so it might be another customers fault that you are having to wait.

DPD are definitely the way forward for couriers, they give you an hours window within which they will arrive! and they are pretty damn accurate. Not helpful when the seller doesn't use them I know but maybe more will start to follow this plan.

Wahay, the worlds most miserable courier has just turned up.

I am clad you have arrived as I have been waiting in all day.
I do have other parcels as well as yours!

I guess you guys were correct, he has done his furthest first. By his impressive cold weather get up, I would assume he has just been to the antartic with a quick artic call on the way back.

Father christmas will be visiting the granddaughter after all.

WIth original material like that I'm surprised he didnt ring the depot so they could all hear you repeat it.

Bet nobody ever says that to him.

Couriers are service providers, it always pays to be nice to service providers, I chat with quite a few of the ones we have at work and they will bend the rules to help me out. I don't get left off their list as they ran out of time as I get looked on favourably (I'd like to think anyway) but either way I've not had bad experiences so I try and attribute it to a karmic response.

Glad your gift arrived anyway Tim Now why haven't you done those tasks yet? chop chop!

As Brettus says be nice to the courier man, being a courier this time of year sucks I know because I have done it.

I detest DPD. I havent had that 1 hour window thing though. But my main annoyance with them is their local to me depot is a 50min round trip to a tiny little town. I live in Northampton you'd have thought they'd have a depot here!!

TNT are based in wellingborough for me which is annoying however their re-delivery is brilliant. You can chose to let them redeliver the following day, choose an alternative day, collect from depot, or deliver to an alternate address.
