Ooh didn't know that, read somewhere on here that they can't. How's it done then? Just flicking the kill switch off then on really quick?

If you mean, can you intentionally cause a backfire, using the kill switch when moving, then I suspect the FI bikes would cut the fuel as well as spark so this may not work (unsure, not tried on one).
If you mean are FI bikes immune to popping and banging on over-run or developing exciting fuel and ignition faults causing backfires, then no they're not. Jambo

I bumped started mine this morning and as it started it kicked out a 6inch flame paired with the loudest bang in the world. The guy behind pushing was absolutely sh*t scared. He reckons I nearly set him on fire, started alright though
Pmsl ...would love to know if its possible to get it to intentionally pop whilst messing with the killswitch and throttle whilst moving too. K6 with Carbon Fibre race can (no baffles)

Would doing this not damage your engine, I have done this using the killswitch, I have a 2001 curvy, making it backfire sounds good but it can't be doing the engine much good?

Be fine for the engine. Your exhaust might not like it much though. My CCM pops and bangs more than any other bike i've had and it gives exhausts a hard time, it has lightly cracked a weld before now.
