Default Hi all!

I've just purchased my first SV, a 2001 curvy S in yellow. The bike is being delivered later this week so am pretty exited about getting out on the road on her now. I have commited the cardinal sin and bought the bike unseen off Biketrader which I wouldn't usually do, but it was 200 miles away in Grimsby so I took a calculated risk. The bike is from a dealer at least and has a three month warranty. It looks pretty good from what I can see - 17700 miles, FSH, new chain and sprockets, new brake pads, recent service and 12months MOT. Also has a Viper end can which is always a bonus. I've owned two Ducati Monster's in the past, a 600 and a 695, so the SV is something new, all be it still a V Twin. Anyways, just wanted to say hello as I will [probably be after some advice on here at some point!

Welcome dude. Be sure to look in the South West area of the Forum if you're interested on going on Rideouts etc. I'm also based in Cardiff so give us a shout if you need anything

Will do Just out of interest, where would you recommend for servicing, etc, not that the bike will need one for a while. I plan on doing oil changes and minor things myself but is always handy to know a trustworthy mechanic!

Oi Oi taffy boy. I salute your decisive buying style. Much better to steam in and give it a go. What can go wrong?

Decisive is one way of putting it lol. More likely impatient though I know all the sensible logic says look at a few before you buy etc, but I just had to have it. Time will tell if I made the right choice but at least SV's aren't as fickle as the Ducati's I've owned previously... And I agree Chris, best shape and colour

Better than bringing you with him to view it, and that's for sure.

There's a place in Penarth, Patersons - https://plus.google.com/107724893344...ut?gl=uk&hl=en

Far more affordable than Riders or the Triumph garage that I've used for MOT's and such. Riders specialise in Duc's and BMW's so priced accordingly. The Triumph garage seems fine but never used them for service cause their tyre change price was a bit much. Bought good gear from them though.

But Patersons is a small garage that does SV's and other older bikes. Rates seem reasonable and service is straight up. Other than that, its Thunder Road which is where I had my first 5. Not since last year though. I have a love/hate relationship with them
