So I've been thinking of getting one of these for a while and after reading a thread on here, you all seem happy with it, so I'm going to go for it.
Just want to check a few things before purchase really: I've got an sk1 sv. Is the xx14 the correct one from the XX range for my bike? I've seen people use a cable to the bars as a reminder that the disc lock is on. Does anybody use these with the xena, or does the alarm sound quick enough to make you aware before you try to ride off? Thanks in advance for replies Oli |

You won't get the bike upright before the alarm goes off....

I've received mine. Seems like a good bit of kit. Not overly sensitive like I feared. I can push the bars a little bit and give the bike a little wobble (like a huge gust of wind) and it doesn't go off. Kick the tyre though, or pull the bike upright and it starts chirping ready to go off.
Very happy with it.

As said, you won't get the chance to ride off with it still on. You'll get as far as swinging a leg over the bike before it chirps & then let's you have the full 120db as you stand the bike up straight.
If you're in public then yes you'll look like a complete tool but not as bad as riding half a yard before falling off and buggering a disc/calliper/front mudguard ![]() |

Haha cheers guys. Ill get one bought then try it out i think.
Id much rather look a tool trying to stand it up, than looking a tool rolling around on the floor with a broken bike. |

My reminder cable might be put to good use if the sister keeps up her shenanigans, cos it's certainly not needed on the bike.
The large gap on the brake disc of the sv is perfect. I had the embarrassing moment on a friends bike where i put the lock through the circle holes cos that's all he had. It was a tight fit and i set the alarm off about 5 times trying to free the pin. I think i woke up half the neighbourhood that morning! |
