Snow Patrol!!!
We went out for a little bimble in the car today to gawk at the snow. Some of the drifts are quite impressive!
Above my village...      Minor lane still blocked with a Loadall digging out from the other end     The road up from Cerrigydrudion to LLyn Brenig had some mighty snow-drifts, higher than the car    We eventually came out onto the A543 Denbigh-Pentrefoelas road, much beloved of motorcyclists. We could see a car in the distance, which turned out to be a Porsche which turned around at this point!  Because this was round the corner!   Just up the road from here we met a tractor going the other way and ended up stuck in a drift trying to pass it. Small tug with the tow-rope by the tractor and we were on our way again.....     Never seen this much snow in my life, astonishing. The strong wind combination has caused havoc up here in Yorkshire. Last edited by missyburd; 26-03-13 at 05:40 PM. |

a common scientific effect known as splashy splashy freezy freezy.
We have a patch of artificial snow on the road frequently here where a puddle always forms. Nothing NEARLY as awesome as what dipper found though. |

First time I've seen it, spray from cars passing though puddles builds up on the hedge. The effect is far more enchanting than the explanation I'm afraid!

Sorry Maria but LP's drifts look more impressive lol
That pic of the frozen splashes on the bushes reminds me of a pic a mate showed me once of niagra falls, the spray was freezing and hanging off the trees making all kind of weird beautiful shapes. |
