Some of you may have seen my previous thread about the trials and tribulations associated with my eldest son's route to getting licensed.
Well, after having Mod 2 tests under previous regime cancelled a couple of times due to the snow in Jan, we ended up having to wait for him to clock over 19 and I'm pleased to report that after having to re-do Mod 1 on a larger bike he finally passed Mod 2 today for his A2 licence. ![]() (*Bennetts online has quoted - price not too unreasonable - comprehensive cover with an excess greater than bike value but won't quote TPF&T. How does that work - why would we ever consider a claim for own bike if likely payout would be less than excess? ![]()

Express Insurance have been the best for me everytime! (they are an insurance broker) but somehow always manage to get me the lowest premiums with lowest excess'
I would definitely recommend them - also they have a very friendly Scottish call centre |

Heard it said on here (pub rumour-style) that with younger riders and some bikes, insurers won't give TPFT cover because they think the rider will just pretend it's been nicked if they bin it, so it's easier just to offer fully comp only.
Whether or not there's any truth in that whatsoever, I don't know. A couple of orgers work in the insurance industry so hopefully they'll be along soon to provide a more informed comment!
