Can someone explain how a stretched / gunky chain causes issues, there were no issues with the old sprockets, no hooks. The gearbox is pretty smooth now, night&day smoothness from before. Is it because a stretched chain causes the links to grind on the sprocket teeth as the distance on the links has been made wider (which can be the cause of hooks). My thoughts were when this happens it puts a strain on the output/transmission shaft against the case bearing causing flex & slight misalignment of the gearbox internals?
