You say that but the most dangerous bit to me always seems to be landing, so really this seems LESS nuts than a normal jump.

Well he has to hit the river, otherwise he's dead as his parachute won't slow him down enough. Plus his parachute has to deploy in time, otherwise hitting that river is going to snap his legs like twigs. I think it's pretty lunacidal, and for that reason I give it 7.5/10 bum parps.

wow, seems like a bit of a waste of a perfectly good parachute!
tbf he probably would have been alright landing without it. if i was the guy who had done the maths on that i would have been dropping bricks!

From what I've read, 60m into water is fatal. High cliff dives are 20-30m, with people injuring themselves if they get it wrong. I think it says he was at approx 40 metres, but obviously had some lateral speed too. I reckon a few bones would've snapped without the parachute!
