Default How do i remove exhaust downpipes?

Hi,

Well as ive posted on here my mate fitted my Danmoto exhaust the other day but F**ked up my downpipes as he cut them too short.

So im trying to source new ones before the weekend as i have a trackday at brands on monday.

I was wondering if i can source new ones how hard is it to remove the exhaust?

This is the part i will be re fitting this weekend and need to know what needs to be removed to fit it?

Cheers
Mason

There's a few threads on here regarding removing header bolts IIRC.

The front header bolts tend to be a nightmare as they're made of cheese. Lots of penetrating fluid and patience seem to be key. Be very careful or you may snap the studs.

Fair point. I only glanced at the photo and it looked like a full system.

I should learn to read posts properly

Whenever I have tried to remove the end section of the exhaust, I have had to loosen/ take out the bolts holding the downpipe in to the front header.

This is because it has been much too tight to remove the exhaust and put it back in place, without the front downpipe being loose/ removed.

Just a heads up in case you find the same thing .

Thanks for the heads up! Quick question does the K3 and the K4 have the same exhaust system?

I don't think so, I thought the 2003 had different mounting brackets to all other years.
