If it comes off, it should be interesting.
Lets hope it isn't another Petronas FP1,

Lotus usually do one thing well and that's handling so i dont see any reason they wont transfer their expertise to bikes. i hope this is not pie in the sky.

Good grief. Has anyone read the blurb on the article the news bot links too. I hope the bike is good, but the cr@p the marketing guys are coming up with is just awful, trite rubbish.

The factory is just up the road from my parents so I'll get Dad to keep an eye out for any road testing.
And as Bibio says - a philosophy of light weight, high revving, high power, and good handling is a great place to start. Maybe the odd supercharger? |

More prospects in motorcycle engineering in the UK can only be a good thing!

Does anyone know anyone from the "car racing team Kodewa"? I bet there is one or two bike nuts in that team who have been building bikes for years and finally talked their bosses into it...

Throwing 200hp in a motorbike (more than an R1) doesn't sound very much like Lotus' design philosophy.
I'd have been expecting them to do something interesting, like a small 400cc high-revving, 100kg bike. |

The Lotus name has been passed around a fair bit, and is used by a few companies, most of whom are unconnected with the original firm started by Colin Chapman in any meaningful way.
I suspect people have decided to build a new bike and bought the rights to make it sound like it has a much longer design heritage than it does. This should probably be considered a new bike from a new company. Fingers crossed it goes well. Jambo
