Default Crashed my Pointy.

Ok so the k5 pointy ate the dirt today all is well it was a slow off, just a grazed handle bar a grazed front brake lever, a broken rear brake pedal and a broken mirror. Oh and the fairing is grazed but has been touched up with black tee cut and the exhaust is scratched!

Back brake pedal is being fixed Saturday at a cost of £80!!! How easy is it to do yourself. Is it illegal to ride without a rear brake, although I may have broken the law riding it home from London today if it is.

Mirrors are the indicator ones are they easy to instal? Or can the head be taken off and replaced? At the moment it is taped to the front of the bike so the indicator can still be seen.

Anything else I should check. I did notice this morning it was making a ticking sound when riding but I thought this was normal?.

not good for the confidence!!!

Default Crashed!!!

Unlucky mate.. No idea about the indicator mirrors. But if it helps I fixed my gear lever myself for free when I had my off. Drilled a bolt through the side of it as the bit your foot hooks under had sheared. I intended for it to only be a short term fix, but two years later I still use it as its just as good as the original! Not sure if you could do that to yor rear brake lever?

Coops

On my lil' CBR125R I bent the rear brake pedal back out into position when I was knocked off. Seemed easy enough, I'm sure the SV will be similar, just a bit bigger so you may need a longer lever?

What's happened to the rear pedal?

I've had one of Davie's fixer pegs on my back brake lever for about two years (given to me by an ex-orger). Still going strong and not been an issue for the MoT.

80 quid is a lot of money for a little piece of cheap metal.

If you don't want to go to fixer peg route, just buy one off ebay and change it your self, its not hard to do and I found a new pedal for £27 with postage

It sheered Off the knob part, going to the garage for it to be done by the pros. The mirrors won't be here till August so the broken one is taped to the front so it can show an indication, is this an mot failure?.

Also the bike is making a ticking noise when the engine runs, and accelerates, is this normal?

Just drill the lever and put a bolt in. I know loads of people that have done that. The indicator mirrors just make sure you follow the wiring as the snapped off one and you'll be fine
