I have an Optimate 4 charger which I use for my SV. However, I don't think it's strong enough to charge my car battery.
Do I need an Optimate 5, or can you recommend another smart car battery charger. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

You can use it on a big battery,it just takes days to charge up.Fine for regular maintenance charges though.

Big capacity means a low current small charger like the optimate will take a while if the battery is actually flat. But the voltage side of things, the "smart" parts... work the same on anything that's the right voltage.
