Default Considering a bike upgrade

A couple of years ago I bought my nephew this bike for Christmas - and despite high siding it on more than one occasion he has ridden it every day and even done some green laning (while his mother ran behind him shouting "Get of the mud those are your clean trousers!") but has now said he has outgrown the bike and it's time for an upgrade.

Not being a wimp he said he's an all weather biker and feels that this upgrade should be done towards the end of December so he can commute to school on it. There was also mention that he's been a really good boy this year (which is a total lie I might add) and can I have a word with Santa?

Hmm, now why do I get the feeling that Santa will be re-charging my debit card the £60 this upgrade is going to cost?

Seems like a bargain but don't forget to factor in what he'll want you to spend on suspension upgrades, dynos and bling

I'm thinking of selling the old bike to Hong - I reckon he's just about be able to get his feet flat on the floor.

When you consider the amount of enjoyment to be had by it's new owner,
it may well the best £60 you've ever spent.

Well done. Your nephew is lucky to have such a cool aunt.

Take him to the bike show and let him choose his own.

Btw, I really should move this thread to bike talk...

The new bike has been very well received. He's already cleaned it twice, done a bit of off-roading, mastered the wheelie and taken a pillion. And before anyone asks, yes of course they are kevlar lion and monkey onesies!
