Default K6 headlights not working at all?

Hi there guys I've encountered a problem with my sv where my headlights simply don't work at all. The bike wont even register as if the headlight even exists :L the main beam indicator light doesn't come on the dash when you flick the switch, again it doesn't come one when the pass light is pressed I'm reasonably certain its not the bulbs as it seems a little unlikely for both bulbs to go at the same time and if they did surely it would register on the dash when you switched to main beam. On a "side" note the sidelights are on all the time even when the bike is running and driving, whereas the headlights aren't. I have read of a couple of people having the same problem as me in the past where the contacts in the starter switch deteriorate over time. Any help would be really appreciated as "Winter is coming" and I don't like the idea of it being dark and having no headlights

Regards
Byron

Have you checked the fuse?

Have you checked the connectors on the back of them are pushed on far enough?

There's a common fault with the connectors for the switchgear on either side. Take the front faring off and trace the switchgear to a large block connector - unplug and check there are no burns/markings. Douse in WD40.

That caused my "lights out" moment. Problem was traced back to the large block connector where the connections had corroded and been shorting for a while so had to be bypassed. Cow of a job, just had to start at the front and work back towards battery! Good luck, let us know if you sorted it and what the problem was, for future reference like.

I had this problem this week, had a going over everything and gave up, went to the garage 4 hours £155 and two new looms later and she's fixed, I had a corrosion on the low beam down ner the air box and the high beam had corroded and burnt out by the connector block behind the speedo.

Bloody hell I hope that isn't the case with mine, i took it apart a little and took a look but it seemed fairly useless, no obvious problem with it so I'l probably have to end up at the local garage aswell
