I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the vfr800. I hadn't noticed that they have decided to build a new one. Wasn't too sure if I liked it from the first couple of pictures I saw but in the video below it does look nice.
Same engine and chassis but everything else is new. Descent touring features too. Might be tempted when I'm looking to change the sv in a couple of years. http://youtu.be/VjHYVVnmAJQ |

Should be a great bike, I had one till last month.
It was just a little bit to heavy to be a really fun bike so hopefully they have sorted that. It still looks bland though. Any news on how much it'll cost?

Yeah, I guess you could say its a little bit bland. Though I still think the vfr800 is a good looking bike (much like the SV) despite being 10 years old. Maybe that is part of the trick? I'm sure if it looked cutting edge today it'd look old fashioned in 3 years

The back wheel is really trick in the flesh.
![]() Yeeah the styling is not very daring unlike the 1st vtec. I still think they look great. |

Definitely my next (second) bike, just to be able to go a bit further than I can on SV.
Probably not 2014 version though - haven't got spare £10,5k ![]() |

Does that imply the 1200 isn't selling well? I did really like the look of the old one with the underseat exhausts.

I find it hard to believe a 1200cc touring bike is really in the same market as the vfr800. I doubt it is that the vfr1200 isn't selling well (although its a premium bike so won't be flying out the door) but more that they were selling the old model vfr800 in sufficient quantities to warrant keeping the model alive for a few more years.
Just the though of asking the insurance company how much they'd want for a vfr1200 makes my stomach turn. I doubt a vfr800 wouldn't be a massive jump. |

From what I've heard, people ARE buying 1200's and selling them almost immediately.

The 1200 is like a fat ugly girl. She might be fun to ride but you don't want your mates to know about it.
Not seen the 800 in the flesh yet, might take a walk along to Victors. Suppose I'm almost getting to the age when a bike like that becomes appealing.
