Default Throttle cable length; faired vs unfaired?

A quick question, as I'm planning on fitting high bars onto my faired curvy... are the throttle cables the same length on the faired bike as the unfaired bike? I understand that the brakes hoses are longer on the unfaired (no probs as I'm ungrading to braided lines), but what about the cables? And the switchgear wiring? Same length for both models?

No naked & faired are diffeent lengths

Depends on how high your new bars are going to be.

Fit bars and then see, you can reroute them behind the forks as one method.

But if they're a lot higher like mine, then you'll need the naked throttle cables for sure & maybe the choke cable.

Clutch will be fine

Thanks Maviczap, although as the bike is a daily rider I won't be able to fit the bars and then subsequently try the cables, all needs to be done in one hit! The bars aren't a particularly high rise (they're fatbars) and have particularly low risers...

Then you might get away with the standard ones

Fingers crossed, going to get brake lines ordered and top yoke drilled and risers fitted in advance, then do it in one hit!

Hi,
I did this on my curvy and you can re route the cables but there isn't that much play. I just got new naked cables and they work a treat and not that expensive. The wirings fine loads of room.
You'll also need some sort of bracket for the brake reservoir as that bolts to the existing handlebars.
I made a couple of steel plates to fit under the yoke which I glued in for a little more strength.
You'll need to drill the new bars to fit the switch clusters as they have a small lug on them to stop them turning round on the bars.
The screen might need cutting as the bars may hit it when on full lock, I got a second hand one in case I buggered it up.
Lastly don't forget bar end weights.
Much more comfortable to ride when done and you can still get down on the tank!
Good luck.
Franco.

Nice one, thanks for the info Franco!
Good tip about the plate under the yoke too, I was wondering about that! I've actually taken the HUGE bar end weights off the standard bars, and have had no problems with vibes, but I'll see how it goes with the high bars and if they vibrate I'll try some weights.
