Default Pointy won't start.

Hi all i'm new to the forum and this is my first post and am in need of dire help.

I commute on my SV650S 2004 model and had it a year and had no issues what so ever until weds, came back sunday from a short ride out and the bikes been out in ALL weathers storms ect you name is.

Weds afternoon had a hot date with a chick and it wouldn't start....even when jumped from a car battery.

Checked the following

ALL electrical connections
Plugs ( new one coming tomorrow just in case) had spark
Fuel pump comes on when FOB pressed
Fresh fuel in tank
clutch and side stand switches work
and freshly charged battery which was replaced in April/May this year.

Only thing i noticed is that both headlight bulbs had blown ???!!!???

Thoughts from the collective much appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

It wouldn't turn over if the kill switch is in the 'off' position. Yes you also need to pull in the clutch to start it .

Let's be really clear on what is and is not happening.

From what you've written above:
1) Bike was working fine, left for a short period, nothing has happened to it between it running and not, however trivial.
2) The bike turns on with the ignition and display lights up, fuel pump can be heard to prime.
3) The bike turns over strongly on the button
4) There is a spark from both plugs when removed and grounded against a good earth.
5) The bike does not splutter, cough or smell of fuel.
6) The headlights have both blown.
7) There are no errors shown on the dash when the bike is turning over or before the starter button is pressed.

Does all of the above sound correct, or is anything not as above?

More importantly, were you able to find another way to get to that date?

The bike did smell of fuel from the exhaust pipe, if the battery is faulty and not enough amps maybe the spark isn't strong enough. But is should of started via a jump from a car!

Other thought is what about automatic choke, throttle sensor ect

Please confirm exactly what does and doesn't happen.

Generally speaking if the battery is strong enough to turn the motor over, it's got enough power to make a spark, but unless we get methodical about what is and isn't happening here we're all just guessing and listing components.
