i'll see if i still have the pics but what i done was cut the straps in half, melted the ends or they fray then melted holes in the ends so i could get a bolt through them and bolted them to the fixing points. when not in use i just fold them into the tail.

Cheers.
It seems I can wrap round the sub frame for two fixing points, but the sub frame changes shape at the tail and there is op room to wrap around the tubes.

I have wondered about strapping round the seat and not touching the sub frame.

cant find the picture, i'll take another 2morra.

basically there are 2 bolts holding the grab/cowl rail on you bolt the back 2 to this once you have made the changes to the straps.

there are 2 big Philips #3 bolts at the front that hold the plastics on and you do the same as the back except that you put the straps under the plastic then put the bolts back in.

once you have done this then it makes for a very very secure fitting as you are not relying on the seat/cowl mechanism to be the main securing point, also the strap are always on the bike and can be hidden when not in use.

Run my US20 & 2 x US10's and a US5 all fastened together, by just running them under the seat pad. Never had any problems with security of the load.

I had a very nice 'rack' I made up for the SV, sold it to andrewsmith, but I had an old seat cowl, drilled out and bolted a plate on. Very tidy solution. Looking for seat base for the gixxer (K6 / K7 if anyone has one) to make one up.
