Evening all, first post!
I've been an SV650S K8 owner for 24 hours now and can't fault the bike, however..... While I've been in work today the other half has messaged me saying that the bike is giving a single beep every few hours (it's parked up in the garage) and quite frankly I'm puzzled. Many friends have said it's an alarm related noise but the problem is that the bike doesn't have an alarm....... According to the service history it once did when it was new however it was nowhere to be found when I viewed the bike and presumed the old owner had removed it. Any thoughts on this? |

Sounds like the alarm is still on the bike

But wouldn't it either go nuts every time I started the bike or immobilise it?
This is what's confusing. |

sounds like the alarm is still on the bike and in service/valet mode.

So how difficult is the job of removing it?

Depends on the alarm
If it's the dealer fitted one I think there is a bypass plug Sent from my D2303 using Tapatalk

It has a dealer fitted unit when it was new but I've been led to believe this was removed at some point due to the siren having issues (according to service history).
I'm looking under the seats and fairly stumped if it's in there or not as the LED in the side panel wasn't connected to anything. Can anyone give me any hints as to where the alarm unit would be to determine if it's still present. |

Mine was in the tail plastics under the rear subframe on my last bike, which was dealer fitted HTH.

Do you mean the side plastics of the tail?

There's a blanked off connector on the left side (looking as if you're sitting on it) marked UP, any ideas?
