I know many people, as I, have struggled to find decent earphones to wear when biking for a bazillion different comfort and noise isolation reasons.
Get these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shure-SE215-...keywords=shure No, I'm not an ambassador for Shure. They are simply amazing. I have personally been through at least 20 different models of earphones, most of which do not stay in my ear and/or don't isolate noise. These did both, straight out the box. In the months I've been using them on the bike, in the gym, and life every day, they have not slipped out or broken. The shape of the bud makes it stay in your ear, and the first few inches of wire is mould-able and lines over your ear (comfortably), so they never fall out even when you're putting a helmet on. The foam tip forms the best seal. So impressed. Sound is fantastic too. When these break I will buy the superior version of the same thing. |

Yep but you never know were his next tour will be .
(And it's not just spain France. Those caught with earphones in their ears risk fines of €135 and losing three license points. This is the same fine for those caught operating a telephone or not wearing their seat belt. ).....

I live in Italy, not France or Spain.
Also, f*ck them. Worth risking it for the fine. No different from having bluetooth or music in a car. Just tell the cops you use it for active noise cancellation (which requires connecting to a device) and not music or phone calls, if you ever really care and get pulled over. Anyway, it is advice for people who have been searching for decent earphones like I have. People can take it or leave it. They're a really solid pair of headphones. |

I was pulled over in the UK wearing earphones and never even questioned about it, and in Italy people wedge their phones between their helmet and ear as a matter of course, so nothing ever will happen for having earphones in.

How come you thought I was in Spain though? Is there something I need to change on the Forums which says I'm there? Or somewhere it mentions I did a tour recently? Freaky

The linked article mentions "Driving in Spain" as its title.

Well yes, I agree with the sentiment, it's just that the way the laws are worded it is simply the wearing of any device in the ear "capable of emitting sound", it doesn't matter what you then use them for so the argument would be pointless (unlike your licence). Speakers in the helmet are OK (yes, it is bizarre, but these are French/Spanish laws we're dealing with here....). I got back from a French trip last week and a lot of folk still use in-ear phones on bikes. It's just another one of those "add it to the list" offences which would be added to a more serious offence, just like the helmet reflective sticker business in France. You take your chances ......
