Default OMO - Kitchen Appliances opinions

Hi All

I'd like to tap into the ORG's collective knowledge again. I'm having an extention built and a new kitchen will be going in it, so I want opinions about 'the best' appliances to go for.

I'm after a built in double oven, gas hob with wok-burner, built in micro-wave, nice 'designer' extractor hood and a dishwasher. Currently looking at Siemens and AEG but would like to get input on what is good and what is not.

I love my Bosch appliances I have a five ring gas hob with a wok burner, I'll be honest I hardly use the wok burner but its nice to have. The oven is also bosch but only a single only thing I've had an issue with is the light and not being able to get it changed. We also have a 3/4 size dish washer by bosch and its been great too. We've had no issues in the six years.

One word of advice - don't seal any electrical adaptors in behind wall tiles. Some dumbass decided that the under cabinet light adapter would be fine and sealed it behind the tiles above the hob... whoops!!!

Well Mike, coming from somebody that fits appliances on a regular basis, I've fitted many different brands and I can say with no doubt, if it was me, I'd choose bosch, well made and from a fitters perspective, they think about they are fitted, especially integrated appliances.

Got all Bosh appliances fitted in a new build, only thing I had a problem with was the fridge, the mechanism that turns the light out didn't work so the light remained on when the door was closed, generating heat and causing all sorts of problems resulting in a funny burning smell in the fridge.

1 call to Bosch and an engineer was there within the week to fit a modified light so as far as service is concerned I'd recommend Bosch highly

You saying that Lenny I now remember our fridge freezer stopped working and the Bosch engineer was with us the very next day to fix it. The fridge freezer was bought 10 years ago and is still fine...

To be honest I am liking Siemens appliances as I really like the looks, made by the same group as Bosch. Worth the extra over Bosch you think?

Another vote for Bosch, we've washing machine, fridgefreezeer and dishwasher

But having had Bosch every time, i don't think the quality is quite as good as it used to be.

if you've got the money then AEG is better, and Siemens too.

We've an AEG washing machine at work and so has my MIL, and they are much quieter than our Bosch, with the same German reliability.

The light in the fridge freezer has never worked properly.

I'm a professional kitchen fitter these days (ex joiner now specialising in kitchens )

Lg and Samsung on washers/driers

Bosch, aeg, Miele on cookers

TBH any of those manufacturers are spot on.

I'm a big fan of lg washers, Miele for everything else

Aeg/Bosch about the same as second to Miele
