should the 2 black wires be connected to anything, they are just joined together . thanks in advance guys

You need to learn how to use the macro feature on your camera, or be a bit more descriptive

I know mate very poor pic, will try again tomorrow. it's the two black wires that exit the green box, they are just joined together.

Is that the main fuse carrier under the riders seat on an SV?

it's a 1999 naked sv650 and I think it is the fuse carrier. I am sure the battery earth goes into it. at a guess I would say they are earth wires that should be put to ground on the frame but not going to risk it without advice. new to the sv's, so no better place to ask but on this forum. thanks for your reply

its the starter solenoid, dunno what wire we are talking about as picture is not very good, the big wires on it come straight from battery.
