Default Stolen: Triumph speed triple

My beloved red speed triple, reg KE64GXV and which I have owned for less than two months was stolen today from outside my office in Fulham, London.

If anyone spots this bike I would greatly like to know - I'm absolutely heartbroken. It's my dream bike and I hardily got to ride it.

I've checked insurance quotations and the claim for this bike will mean that I can no longer afford to insure a motorcycle of this value or insurance group for the next few years. So, I guess I'm in the market for an SV again.

It's beyond unfair that through no fault of my own I now can't afford to own the majority of medium or larger capacity bikes. I had chained the bike up and it was immobilised. The thieves (as caught on CCTV) simply cut through the heavy duty chain and started my bike without the key in under a minute. The police said there was no way I could have done any more to prevent it. I just can't believe it's gone.

I feel your pain. Given the poor performance, what chain did you have on it so I can avoid?

Not nice, and undoubtedly professional thieves.

That's just rubbish for you.

What sort of SV Will you be looking for? I really must sell mine, I haven't ridden it since I bought my GS in 2012. It's a black K8s in perfect condition. About 10k miles, FSH until I sorned it. I'm in Chelmsford so if you do decide you are going the SV route keep it in mind. In the meantime, fingers crossed yours might turn up.

Mine is the non faired pointy. It's got a Beowulf can, heated grips, big top box as I used to carry my camera gear in it.

I've also got a tail tidy and hugger I never got around to fitting.

Basically I had to have my Achilles operated on and bought a GS while it healed. The Achilles is still a problem so much as I love my SV is not that comfy on my foot.

I bought it new. This is the scooped out seat but I've got the original red one too.

Looks very tidy, I was ideally looking for a fully faired. Thanks anyway, Dom

The chain was a Roxter heavy duty chain, bought from infinity motorcycles iirc. Cut through in seconds. Just goes to show that if they want it, they can have it, doesn't matter what you do - chains, disk locks, immobilisers, alarms. That's the society we live in. Hell, when my street triple was stolen last year they even knew exactly how to remove the GPS tracker. Thankfully I got that bike back when a kind member of the estate it had been wheeled to thought it looked a little out of place there.

Just out of interest, if I decide to go down the SV route, little pea head, how much were you looking for?

In the nicest possible way a £30 chain is not going to be good enough, let alone in a high risk area. possibly something linked above may help.
