old Panasonic tv question
Asking questions about a tv on a motorcycle site? Well someone may know...
I have an old Panasonic (Viera) tv (maybe 8 -10 years old), I have fitted a Netgear USB wifi adaptor, I can select my laptop as a media server, view images and any video that is stored on the laptop. Would I be correct in thinking that with this set up it is not possible to stream a live internet video file direct to the telly. From what playing around I've done, it seems that the problem lies with getting the tv into a mode where it can receive the stream. I have VLC and it is capable of sending a stream but the tv is looking for a resident file. |

Does it not have any apps? Or do you have a DVD player or games console?

Re: old Panasonic tv question
Ahh you'd probably need kodi for that. Although both of those series are out so you'd be better completely downloading them rather than streaming.
I really enjoyed the new star trek |

Re: old Panasonic tv question
windows 10 has support for 'wireless tv' but as far as i'm aware the tv needs support for this. basically windows sees the wireless tv as a monitor. i think you can get wireless transmitters/receivers for this which plug into hdmi ports.

Re: old Panasonic tv question
I think mine was still on Viera Cast last time I looked and didn't have any good apps. I don't have the tv connected just now to check what's on it

Does it have hdmi sockets?
If so just get a Roku streaming stick. Magic little gadgets. |

Re: old Panasonic tv question
Yes and no.
There's over a thousand channels so no shortage of stuff to watch. If you want to play video files wirelessly from a NAS drive, Roku Media Player will do it, if you want to stream content from an Android phone using "Play To" it will do that. |

Re: old Panasonic tv question
Thought about just getting a media pc and hooking it up to the TV?
That's what I, kinda, do with mine. I say kinda as it's not a media pc, it's a full size tower but I just use it to watch TV n films through my TV. There are some really small media pcs about that don't clutter up the area. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
