Default Hot Water

Nice day today - hammering down with rain and even a bit of hail by Northolt on the A40. I rode to work very carefully filtered only when traffic was almost at a standstill, and got to work just 10 mins later than normal. I park up in the underground car park feeling pleased that I have had an uneventful journey (well only carved up twice) and as I put the bike on the sidestand I see a lot of hot water running off the bottom of the radiator. I can't see where it's coming from and the pressure in the pipes feels good - is this just rain water that's become heated on top of the rad? Seems to be more than you would think possible. Haven't noticed this before but then I haven't ridden in quite so much water. I'm hoping this is one of those "they all do that Sir" queries!

Al.

They all do that sir.

No really they do, it's just rainwater between the fins of the rad, worry not.

They also can steam like an old locomotive which is a hell of a disconcerting the first time you see it. I thought I had ruptured the the radiator ...
