Default Hit by the uninsured - Can I claim from anyone?

So I've been hit by an unisured cage driver. He's off to court for the offence, but I'm gonna be out of pocket by about £300 - £400 for the repairs. I have a couple of options that I can see:

1. I claim through my own insurance. Lose any no claims and raise my premium. Not relly worth it as my excess is £200 anyway.

2. Claim fron the unisured **** via a civil claim that will probably take 18 - 24 months to resolve. He's a skint pikey **** anyway so it'll be £2 a week job.

Both of these are bollox and I'm inclined to fork out for myself.

I heard a while back that there was some sort of Insurance Bureau that all insurance companies pay into to assist people on my position. Does this thing exist? Is there some other option that I havent thought of?

Help.........?

Here's me thinging you were going to send Wil Smith & Tommy Lee round.... That'd have so much more fun!

They could have wiped his memory, got him insured, then got him to hit you again WITH INSURANCE!

Baseball bat is the only way to get this sort of nob to pay his dues.

Courts are not interested in making uninsured drivers see the error of their ways. They get a slap on the wrist and sent out to repeat their crimes again, whereas the law abbiding make a simple mistake and they are fined, pointed, and made to feel like criminals.

Those who are criminals by choice laugh at how they get away. His fine for no insurance will be far less than the cost of his policy. So of course he couldn't give a toss
