Default Trench-foot?

Hi,

Just to pass on some info about something I've tried.

My boots are not waterproof, but they're comfy and I like them. Didn't really want to splash out (pun intended) on a new apir of waterproof boots so I thought I'd try a pair of "Seal Skinz" waterproof socks.

They do exactly what they say on the box - i.e. they are waterproof. They feel kinda "funny" at first but easily got used to. They are also nice and warm.

OK - at £25 per pair they are not cheap, but they are cheaper than a new pair of boots

So what's wrong with a Sainsbury's carrier bag on each foot before putting your boots on?

Sounds like a bloody good idea then, what with xmas looming and the ever-ruder offspring insisting on presents again.

I'm sure someone mentioned them before, or maybe it was another site?

Anyway, this was the link then

Yep I've got a pair of the wool lined ones for extra warmth. I don't really need them as I've got a pair of Gortex lined boots but use them when it's really cold. Got my muffs(not pretty I know) today as well but in combination with my heated grips I'm sorted. Have to use them as I hate winter gloves due to having only ickle hands.

By the way all those with muffs(surely I'm not the only one) make sure you apply a little bit of lubricants to the popper or you may find out the first you try to pop them apart they will be probably bonded together and you end up destroying them.

Cheers
Ben

I'm not joking when I say I had a pair of tesco food bags on as oversocks last night- my boots are normally pretty waterproof, but after the torrential downpour I got caught in on Saturday, they were still uncomfortabley damp. The bags worked a treat and my socks were still dry when I got home.

I also rode in (admittedley very light) snow for the first time Sunday.

All in all a good weekend
