Default Rear Sprocket Nuts And Bolts

hi,

anyone happen to know of the best place to get the nuts that hold the rear sprocket on? i only need the one, as its very rounded off but is still just about usable. got the new sprockets and chain on, but am thinking of the next set when ever that might be. mail order is cool so long the suppliers know exactly what i'm after.

cheers and happy xmas to everyone

Not necessarily the "best" place, but a useful source of fasteners is Screwfix

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/...xHome&ts=49724

They have expanded the range of stuff they do and now stock a decent range of fasteners, including a selection of stainless stuff (nylocs, dome nuts, capscrews, studding etc) and zinc plated flanged nuts like the sprocket fixings. Pretty sure the sprocket nuts are a std M10x1.5 thread. The S/fix ones are grade8, which should be OK for most purposes. The plating isn't usually very salt resistant though!

Look in the "bolts" section of the Screwfix site. Note they have a min delivery charge! (I have no connection, but have bought stuff from them)

just looking at the hyperbolt site, they list "sprocket nuts" as being M10x1.25 (metric fine), so I may well be wrong. Having said that, the w/shop manual gives the torque as 60Nm which sounds a bit high for a fine thread, so someone will have to confirm the thread.
