Default electrical problem

Help please !!!

I removed the battery on my road going SV because it was dead and
then tried to start the bike by connecting the battery leads to my
car battery. The bike tried but just wouldn't turn over - and then
after a minute or so of trying to start the whole thing just died.
No lights, no nothing !!!

I've checked the fuses under the seat and all appear OK. Any ideas
on what I've managed to damage and how to fix it, PLEASE ??

Sounds like you`ve blown the main circuit fuse

this is located under a triangular moulding on the right of your bike under the seat unit ( removing the triangular moulding gives access to the seat screws )

thats where they at on a pre k3

you didnt say what model you have

And to think you once raced the things!

At the front of the rear sub frameon the right hand side you should find a small plastic box with a green clip on cover. If you remove the cover there are two fuses, one is a spare (I think) and the other one is probably fried.

Dave,

I loctaed and removed the green cover as suggested, found only one fuse in place - 30amp - its was OK. So either there should be two and the other has dropped out - unlikely I would have thought, or its another problem. ANY MORE IDEAS ??

Thnaks,

JASON
