I parked my loverly SV in the underground garage one night and woke up in the morning to find that this white calcium stuff had dripped thru the concerete ceiling and onto my bike... when i came to clean it off i found that there were some splats that i couldnt wash off so scraped it off with my fingernail. Now after i had washed it and dried, ive noticed that ive got tiny scratches from where ive attacked it with my nails, there not very deep or anything, im just wondering if ive permanently knacked that area or if i keep giving it a wash round there they will come out.
Any suggestions, i want my sparkly front back ![]() Iain |

Have you tried a polishing or rubbing compound? That should fix it if they aren't oo deep.

you could have lightly scratched the finish and to be honest it isn't that thicks, by a long way.
You have two optons 1. You'll have to cut the finish back but GENTLY, with something like "T cut" or another colour restorer (or a good one is white tooth paste ![]() 2 Get one of those wax colour sticks (close to your bikes colour) and follow the directions on it. If it's down through the paint (scratches are a different colour) then you'll need to add paint (touchup or re-spray area). Cheers Mark.

They aint too deep, they're more like marks than scratches really, im gonna try the toothpaste idea i think, sounds like a very fine abrasive should do the trick

Another side effect is that your bike will smell of mint for a couple of hours, which is why the toothpaste method is popular with riders of green Speed Triples ![]() |
