Default KTM

Greetings all from,(sorry!) sunny Spain! In my defence it has been a bit cold with a breeze blowing down off the mountains but dry and very sunny.(he he he he!)
Just wanted to let you know my local KTM dealer has me pencilled in for the first test ride when the 990 Duke arrives in town! He said I could only borrow it for a day so that will mean pick up Saturday morning and drop back Monday then?! After all got to try it out properly on my favourite race track,(oops! ) roads!
However I will not commit to buying until the final version of the KTM RC80 is released. Looks a bit quirky but down here in IL4 land it could be of big interest to me?
What do you guys think of what you have seen of the RC80?
Dont hate me it is a V twin!

I think it's on quite a few wish lists here... I think I'll be looking for a used one in about 2 years

The Super Duke is the daddy but with under 80 miles to a tank not the world's most practical bike. But yes I'd love one.

I want a Superduke come the 05 plate yet sadly the local KTM dealer only deals in off road machines and I'm not travelling over 100 miles each way to get it serviced. Also large twins are getting rare and I love that KTM are making them just if only they had a larger dealer network.

I used to work for KTM in the states (Director of Logistics) and the "Super Duke" (I always think that is should be wearing a cape) is a GREAT bike. Very fun and Very capable. Have fun on you ride.

I also actually touched the RC8 very tasty. It is smaller than you would think too.

The only problems I see with both bikes are the plastic tanks. I see it making a real mess on lowsides (fuel everywhere) and I prefer magnetic tank bags which wouldn't work.

Personally I want a 625 SMC.

Saw the new bike a month or so back at a launch party at my local dealer, looks awesome and I'll be going for a test ride at some point.

I've got a 950 Adventure at present, swapped the SV for it a while back and it is an awesome bike KTM really are getting it together, the finish etc on the 950 is great, and it rides fantastically even two up with boxes and panniers all over it.... I love it!!!!
