Default Tip for anyone doing their own servicing

Unless you have the best lit garage in the world, get one of these

I got one for my christmas from my gadget mad brother, but it's brilliant... Light where you need it, all the time, and they last for about 40 hours on 3 AAA batteries. AA maglie thrown out of bike boot, Petzl installed instead.

Petzl are excellent. Well worth the money getting a real one, as opposed to an imitation make. I've had mine for about 10 years and it's still going strong (just needed to rpelace the bulb once). Reasonably infrequently used, but I've used it in harsh conditions (rain, snow, hiking, etc.) without problems.

Got one of thos hi-intensity 6v lithium/zeon torches. About same size as mini maglight, brighter than a 4 D cell mag light. Cops use 'em.

As for the head torch brill idea but then I couldn't wear my supporter helmet with beer can holders and drinking straw...

Yup Petzl's are the dogs danglies and the ones which use LEDs instead of bulbs take up next to no space.
