Default brake seals

when I got to changing my pads, I noticed the dust seals being dragged out by the pistons. So bought new seals.

The manual states that the seals are wedge shaped, but I am blowed if I can tell which side is bigger, I have mic'd them and there is not a thou (0.0254mm for the young uns apparently) in it.

Is the manual having me on or are some seals parallel?. BTW bought from Slingers so should be genuine Suzuki spares.

I've changed the seals but I can't remember if they were wedge shaped or not. I seem to remember that they were, but I cannot be 100%. I still have a set in the shed. If I remember I will have a look tonight.

Oh and what is a thou??? Talk metric to me!

Manual says they're wedge shaped, reality says they ain't.

when milling, strip compo soaked paper was 3 thou.

I started my working career in a toolroom where at times we were grinding gauges to 10ths of a thou.

All my mics, DTI, bore gauges etc are imperial and I see no point in replacing perfectly good instrumentation when a £5 calculator lets me do the conversion anyway.

Beside which who ever has heard of a 300 mil rule, it is a 12" rule. Yes rule not ruler, and what bloke has ever said he has got 200mm
