Default Glue to repair fairings?

Can any one recommend a decent glue, to temporarily repair my front fairings until the new one comes?

I tried a plastics glue last night which was crap and didn't work !

PS I don't care how bad the result looks as they will be going in the bin next month!

Mate of mine uses P45 I think, though its a fibre glass repair that you lay on the back to hold the item together. Depends on where and how big your break is. Oh and it stinks, will make your head spin, so use in a well ventilated area. Needs a bit of sanding once its bonded.

Glue won't work...

Get a soldering iron and some cable ties, line the fairings up and melt the two together slightly, then melt a load of cable ties over the break, it will hold a lot better than glue, if done properly then it's pretty strong! but cable ties is a bodge however it does work so worth trying more so than glue!

Needless to say, you do this on the back of the fairing!

I saw in Ride, they used this method without the cable ties, and just did "spot welds" with it on the back to hold it in place, then once over the line again. Looked quite good and held the weight of a battery balanced on it.

I "tied" mine with wee bits of plastic and 5-minute araldite, just like staples or butterfly stitches... Works pretty well, and doesn't mar the finish like putting glue into the cracks would. You could do the same with Isopon P40, (or is it P38- the bridging compound anyway) or any other fibreglass goop-but it'd take longer to set.
