Interesting thread, i'm in the same predicament, but i'm north london and interested in an SV in southern scotland. I was thinking of a bike trailor, how much are the transits to rent?

Dunno about transits, but I have used bike trailers in the past. This was more than sufficient. One thing I will say is back off all the preloads (making note of the settings), then get a mate (preferably heavy) to sit on the bike and compress the suspension as much as possible while you tie it down. Use ratchet strops and make sure they are secure.
Thinking about it a bike trailer is probably better because the front wheel slots into a channel to hold it in place. Or it did on the one I used. HTH Scoobs |

I fetched my dad's srx6 in the works van with no trouble. Plenty of ratchet straps and padding. DON'T FORGET A RAMP TO GET IT IN THERE!

Hi, I had to do this when I was collecting my bike. The way I did it was to rent a transit van which cost me £50 for 24 hrs. You might find it cheaper oh cus I had to phone around few places to find people that wouldn't insure me due to im under 25.
Once I had the van my next problem was thinking how to get he bike in the back ![]() Lee |

If your a member of one of the breakdown services............get the train, when you have taken charge of the bike, phone them up and tell them you have broken down. simple
