CIA Insurance

Hi All

Well as u may know by now i am insured with cia, via axa, i was very impressed with there service etc etc and have continued to reccomend them sice my renewall in september, however, just a word of warning,


As u all know i have changed bikes to a CCM supermoto.
Same insurance group as the sv but as we all know that means diddly squat when it comes to costs!

So i call CIA before buying the bike and get a quote to change over till the end of the yr, an extra £141, ok so steep, but the initial policy was sooo cheap i can hardly complain, nad half the price of insuring a TL.

So i continue with the sale and on tuesday wake up to my new certifcate showing a CCM 640 not the 604!!
Immeditly call them, "ok sir ill sort that out" great end off!!

Nope, new certificate arrives with correct bike, WRONG cc, (636 as opposed to 59

At this point i was hoping i had been quoted on the more powerfull bike and i might get sum money back,
I call the guy and explain the sittuation,
he was remarkably confuesd about what the previous person had done, and decide to start from scratch eith the right bike this time.
Turns out i had been quoted on the wron bike, however the older less powerfull 604 is £300 more expensive and they want more money!!!!!!!!

More expensive than a TL and part ot the reason i bought the ccm was it was cheaper to insure!!!!!!!

However i was pleasantly supprised to hear " well sir its our fault that this **** up has happened, ill change it on the system, ill get in trouble but after all it is our fault, so we will leave it there"

however i am now concearned that my renewall will be too much come september and the ccm will have to go.........Gutted


So beware, check ur insurance, as i had been riding with potentially dodgy insurance through there mistake for a day,
U cant get written quotations as CIA dont offer them, this little mistake almost put a dampner on me riding this summer as there is no way i could hae found another £300 to insure it.
