Default Note to self

Going home last night on the cow, and I got as far as the nose of the Second Severn crossing, and boy was I sore.

My leathers felt like they had cut the bottom half off me

So I stopped under the bridge (Bristol side) in the litte lay by, and stretched. I can now honestly say, that I agree with you lot. The seat on the SV is not the most comfortable.

And note to self - Must go for a P!$$ before leaving work

I get twinges in my outer thigh - I end up having to let my feet dangle off the back of the footpegs

you're crackers fella! is this a short term thing? the novelty would wear off for me after about a week. 60,000 miles a year assuming you do it every day, give or take.

I've never had cramp badly there before, but when I feel it getting tight I start changing the position of my feet; alternating between the "proper" 'balls of feet on pegs, toes forward' and the slightly racier, 'toes on pegs, balls of the feet backward' every now and then.

The latter position will mean you're moving your feet (and consequently your knees) every time you brake/change gear. It's suprising how little movement/subtle changes in position can help prevent cramp and fatigue (says he who lazily leaned on his tank bag without moving for 100 miles last night and now has an aching shoulder )

Totally banana's mate I know...

Erm... was supposed to be a short term thing, as Mrs Mass and I (plus little-uns) were set to move to France - and I took this job on the wim that it would be my last I.T job - save a bit of dosh before we go, and then offski after about 6 months..

That was 2 and half years ago

Yep - io've worked my way through a vauxhall corsa diesel, and onto a Ford Escort estate TD and my blue cow - of course.

But hey.. you try and find a job that pays you more than the minimum wage in Wales mate..I'm not slagging Wales off in any way at all. (Gods country :thumbsup)
It's just a presumption on the employers of company's that side of the bridge that they expect you to get out of bed for peanuts.

Big up the Welsh Massive (and all that)

knee ache was one of the main reasons for me getting rid of the SV and I'm just over 5 foot tall. It'd set in in my left knee after only a few miles and just get worse and worse and be awful for a few days after a long ride out. I don't get that at all on the raptor
