High street high side - pics added.
Suzi 2 down, Suzi 2 down.
thats right, my 2nd Sv has been written off. heading down wood street in high barnet towards barnet church when i notice a car infront of me parked up to the side in my lane. Then his indicator comes on as he pulls out infront of me, i notice grey hair and expect the worst. I put my horn on, att his time i was still expecting him to carry on anyway, it was at this point i realised we wasnt pulling out to carry on, he was doing a F&CKING U-TURN! he then looks over his sholder to see what that strange 'beep' sound is and decides to stop, blocking the road completly. I attempted to turn away but under extreme braking i had no chance of turning enough, i hit the side of the bonet and landed in the road on the other side. I skidded/rolled onto the pavement and finished on my front, half on the pavement, half in the road. unable to move due to pain, and unable to breathe from the inpact i wiggled about rather pathetically to see if i was intact. anyway, quite alot of people did a great job in chatting to me and stopping me from trying to stand back up. One guy in particualr was very helpful in keeping me calm, some bikers stopped too but i couldnt turn my head to see much. By the time the ambulance turned up there was quite a crowd, luckily i couldnt see much of it. they put a board against my back, rolled me onto it, and lifted me off. wasnt til afterwards i found out the old git was chatting back at me, trying to defend himself and cast blame on me. luckily for him i couldnt walk or i owuld have killed the old geezer, maybe saved him killing someone else some day. hell be back on the road tomorrow im sure. 4 witnesses saw it as they turned whent hey heard the horn going. the police were great and collected the witnesses detials for me. they were even more helpful when i told em my dad was a policeman too. at the hospitol my dad spoke to the traffic police who said some witness had said he'd seen me over taking on the wrong side of the road... but he didnt see the accident. that sounds bad for me, but i was doing that 500m before the accident while the cars were stuck in traffic. i wasnt over taking at speed, at about 10mph with no on ocming traffic. gutted about the bike, the blokes at the scene said it was fine, i couldnt see it ya see. but i was later told its competly fecked. and me? i didnt breake a thing! they had me in a neck brace, tape around my face, unable to move at all. seems the only thing wrong with me is my right knee is swollen, left hand bruised, chest bruised, bluring right eye. i think thats good going as i could have died. just feels like ive been beaten with a bat... had all my leathers on that god! |

Sorry to hear that, dude.
Looks like we need to put up a scoreboard, see who can finish off the most SVs. I think you're winning atm. Hope you feel better soon and can get back on a bike soon after that. |

I wouldn't hold out any hope, though I suppose with 4 witnesses it's a possibility. |

Re: High street high side
Blimey, thank god you're alright - I think we all know it could have been a lot worse
As for this.... Quote:
Hope you're not too sore (I recommend a hot bath followed by arnica cream applied to the bruised bits and oral arnica for added healing power and shock relief - all bikers should keep this in the medicine cabinet) Let us know if there's anything we can do to help or if you need taking down the pub lots love Debs |

re: the above. Bit confused by that, what exactly is, "over taking on the wrong side of the road"? Only the wrong side of double white lines/a central reservation, or undertaking is "the wrong side of the road"? |

Glad you're alive and well! Sorry to hear about the demise of another beautiful bike!
Sounds like one of those situations where the wreckage tells the entire story - 6 points, driving without due care. At the very least - his insurance is liable, get a good solicitor.
