Not the usual questions.
Lets face it us bikers tend to come off second best whenever we get into a scrap with cage. How many of us have made arrangements should we end up dead. As a family man, my concerns are that my missus should not be penalised by me not being able to provide for her and have therefore got a couple of policies. Am I unique in this or should I save my money and force her to look after herself. If I was to snuff it, my missus would be merrier than the merry widow £250,000 from my pension fund plus a widows pension. I addition I have fund that would provide her with £25,000 per annum upto my normal retirement age. I also have a seperate policy that covers me for £200,000 if I am unable to work due to injury. My house is paid for and all my loans etc have protection so should be settled should I snuff it or be unable to work. What is the general feeling. Should we recognise we have responsibilities and make provision or just assume that of course it is the other persons fault and that their insurance would make good for any injuries/death?

Tim - your house is paid for???? BH!!!!
It was a Mrs condition of me getting back on a bike after last year's off (coming up to a year - June 7) that I took out more life insurance. So I did, the cheapest I could find was Norwich Union Direct. Then they started bombarding me with accidental injury insurance. Turns out the small print excludes bike accidents - so I told them where to stuff it. |

We've got plenty of cover too so if either off us were to, well snuff it they would be well provided for.
I must admit we don't have a will, so it would be personal pocessions which wouldn't be accounted for however if we were to both snuff it EVERYthing would go to my parents! strange eh? Best get a will sorted. One thing to be aware of we've seen on some policies, if death / injury was caused by a motorcycle accident your not covered - check your policy! |
