...to flash oncoming to warn them of a mobile camera van?

There isn't a written law against it, but perhaps it could be argued as perversion of justice or similar.
I've certainly heard of people getting pulled over for it.

Last summer we wrote out a sign & put it on a lamp post near a local bike meet warning approaching riders of a camera van up the road - the police came along along, took it down & threatened to arrest us for "preventing a police officer from doing his lawful duty".

Smart alec 'mate' then proceeded to tell young copper that if camera's were there for safety reasons then we were in fact HELPING the police - took a lot of fast & smooth talking + a certain amount of toadying to get away from situation

cant remember the reference law . but a man was given a 6 month disqualification for doing this.

it was the bench mark as it was precidented in a high court (cant remember exact details)

was in the papers about a year ago.

I can't say I entirely disagree with your buddy. I get so sick and tired of the flogging of individuals for thier hard-earned cash all in the name of saftey.

if a camera van is parked up could you park another van behind it to block the camera? would you get done?
