Which is the best oil/grease to use after washing the bike. Specifically for lubing the moving bits and bobs around the gear lever, rear brake lever etc.
Someone suggested 3 in 1 lithium grease but I'd just like to find out what other people use and where else to grease ![]() ![]() |

The usual stuff is "white grease", which you can get in aerosols.
That's what the dealers cover everything in if you have it serviced ![]() ![]() Gear lever pivot will want something a bit thinner to work its way into the bushing. Thin oil, or a mix of engine oil washed in with WD40, seems to work well there. ![]() |

I may be wrong, but I think white grease is white only so you can see where it's been splurged on.

for the gear lever, my dealer explicitly recommended against WD40. Engine oil, he reckoned, was best for it. I concur as I always used WD40 on it and it'd last for a bit then get very stiff.

I think the white grease in the spray can works quite well for the "hard to reach" areas. But I find that re-application is only needed after every two washes or so...
Is that enough? Should I be lubing more regularly? |
