Landsend Adventure
It looks as if only six, Patrick,Julian,Pete,Tony,Kellyand myself are going
so before I make the final arrangements for accomodation does anybody else want to add their names to the list Although the intention is for Landsend I hope we can be flexible with regards to weather i.e.if the weather is bad in that region,Sth West, pick an area where the weather is better, to be decided nearer the time AGENDA for Landsend------ 8:00am meet at Dartford Bridge Services---- round the M25 to the A3--Wisley breakfast-A3-A31-Winchester break fuel-- A34-A30 break Shaftsbury---A30 Honiton break fuel---A30-M5-A30-------- Okehampton break fuel-- arrive pub Zelah about 4-5pm diner7:00 Next day tour Cornwall taking in LANDSEND and whatever we decide Sunday return via A30--A303--M3--M25 with breaks approx every 60mls Some may have to B&B in the pub while the others stay at the cottage but if we split the expense between us it should only[hopefully]be about £25 a head for accomodation for the two nights Any suggestions to improve the plan most welcome |

while your down that way - may i suggest taking the road (cant remember the name) from liskard via antony into tourpoint in plymouth ? very nice road indeed.
also if your thinking of taking a shortcut through dartmoore (see the twisty red road on the map) DONT - the map doesnt tell you that it is one seriously dangerous GREEN lane, took us 6 hours to cover 20 miles. once in landsend - head to newquay - some seriously good roads down that way. (the national park on the south cost-ish in cornwall/devon area has some very nice roads with great hairpins and brilliant views) the A303 is loaded with speed traps so watch your way on the way back. you can take an exit from the A303 - coming from the A30 towards london just after the mcdonalds services roundabout (star-something the name of the place is) that takes you though some lovely roads - real quiet and so twisty your bikes will be on the sides most of the road) joining up with the A303 again (just as you go past a military base) which i recommend. great roads around the plymouth-liskard area - cant miss em. sorry - i would have been able to post road names and more accurate directions but my maps are round my friends house. found most of em by using my GPS and typing in "forbit motorways and dual carageways" good luck and have fun - dont forget to post pics |

as per
Cheers Warren We will probably end up doing a circular tour with a good few stops or sites depending on anything the others want to see or do.
I intend it to be pleasurable and not an endurance test so it is all very open ended |

Update for info----Spoke to the B-in L last night on the phone and its OK
for three to stay at the cottage and the p1ss heads can stay in the pub [ YES-you know who you are] that way you only have to crawl upstairs to bed Arranged for a comunal trough , big table , and dinner booked for Friday and Saturday nights to be selected from the menu Cost for six nights B&B 6X£27:50=£27:50 per head as the cottage is free Obviously the evening meals are as per menu and individuals choice but its reasonable [£7-10:00] I've taken the liberty of inviting my b-in l to dinner both nights for putting three up and we can split the cost for the two meals between the six of us If anybody has anything they want to see or do post up and we can incorporate it into the rideout on the way down/home or on the Saturday trying to be as versatile and open-ended as possible P.S. Bit scared of taking Patrick to Stonehenge with the tattoo revelation |
