ducati 996 - see ya!

was riding through london today, clocked a 996 in my mirrors, come to a red light and filter to front and move over to let 996 in at the front.

996 arrives starts reving engine. i nod at him but he stares straight ahead. I can see him sneering at the SV through his helmet.

light turns green - 996 tries to gun it but stalls. i slide past him shaking my head and laughing. get to the next set of lights filter to front.

wheres 996? sat at the back of the que. but i can still feel the heat glowing off his red face.

Brilliant

Fantastic! Was coming back to Edinburgh from Cambridge on my hols last week taking it easy (average speed on the 328 mile trip of 65mph) Was on the A69 and spotted a Ferrari 348 (I think) up ahead so start working my way through the traffice to take a closer look.

Reached the point where there was no traffic between us- he sees me coming up and guns it- what a glorious noise. Anyway so I nail it and am keeping up until I notice that the single stripe board has come up for my turn off (100 yards) and have an 'Oh f*ck' moment and almost pull a stoppie on the motorway as I try to make the slip road... Luckily we had left the traffic behind

i seem to remember spiderman stalling as we raced off the lights on the way back from soho friday night.....

(btw zig, the reason i was beeping and flashing like mad at u near the lights was because a police car ahd pulled up behind u, not cos i wanted to race!!!).

Well I know I should not admit this but yesterday I got my a*s kicked big time by a Blue Sv! Mind you the guy does actually have a 996 which he has recently written off...but even so he is one hell of a rider!
