Default Fitting a Tail Tidy

Now I know you're all going to laugh at me, but I need to know how to fit my tail tidy,

How do I remove the stupid snow shovel? I have a K3 model, and it's the one with the cowl where the pillion seat should be.

Any help would be very appreciated.

when i got my tail tidy i had to cut the snow shovel away in order for the new undertray to fit. i would have thought it will be the same for yours.

STOP!

Pointies are easily dismantled, you justneed to know how. Roughtly it goes as follows:

1) Remove the pillion seat or seat cowl.
2) Under the allen bolts that hold the plastic panels either side of the rider's seat.
3) Remove the riders seat, but removing the alen bolts that hold it in place either side.
4) Remote the 5 plastic pop-rivets that hold the rear plastics in place. This is done by using a thin object to depress their centres, and then withdrawing the rivet from its hole. 4 are located under the tail at the sides, and a fifth just behind the riders seat.
5) Remove the screw in the bodywork just behind the riders seat.
6) Release the cable actuator that controls the pillion seat locking mechanism. Ensure you remember this bit, you'll be a tad annoyed if when you put it back together again, you forget to connect this up!
7) disconnect the wires for the brake light, indicators, and number plate light.
Delicately remove the bodywork by pulling it back over the subframe.

Removing the snow-shovel should be pretty obvious from there...

Take a look at the Hamicad website

http://www.hamicad.co.uk/SV_Fender.html

scroll down to the fitting instructions...
Which ever tail tidy you fit it's quite a nice description of how the SV rear comes apart, with pictures!

Well, I've managed to fit the tail tidy now, so thanks to Billy and Reckless Rat, the pics definitely helped. Damn Datatool alarm gets in the way though, must have set it off at least 6 times.

Bike looks so much better now.

Thanks again!!!

Cheers XVS, I have actually looked everywhere for black levers. But could only find ones for the '99 model, I wasn't sure if they would fit my K3 model. Do you know where I can get some?

Have you seen the new Arata can with a black titanium finish? Imagine that on a black SV. Sexy!! Lol
