I bought some Wynn's Dry fuel tonight while I was at Halfwits.
Cost me about £4 for a 325ml bottle, instructions say whole bottle is good for a car's tank, so half a bottle for the bike methinks. According to the bottle it: Absorbs water from the fuel tank Guards against rust and corrosion Improves cold starting Prevents carburettor and fuel filter icing All this and harmful to aquatic organisms! Wonder if there's a downside? |

You find out the down side in the spring when the tank has rusted and the fuel has turned into superglue.

I'm still going to be using my bike, it's parked outside so it needs some sort of protection I reckon.

SV's tank 16 litres; car's tank 50-80 litres. I'd be careful with that stuff and personally wouldn't put more than a quarter of a bottle in.

I used that in my SV. Does the job for carb icing.

Thanks mate, I'll start with about 100ml to the tank and see how she goes.
I find I'm having condesation issues at the moment, I left the tank quite close to empty for a few weeks as the weather turned and I wasn't using my bike. |

Just a pointer, most any petrol fuel injector cleaners help reduce/remove moisture so would presume it also helps stop carb icing, even old reliable Redex used to do the trick.
Good point though about making sure you measure the amount against what you would put in a car petrol tank compared to a bike, you could do the engine no good at all if you put too much in. I'd say no more than a sixth of the bottle at most with a full tank. |
